Reducing Heat Loss in Hot TubsHot tub covers are one of the most neglected components of a spa, however they are one of the most important in keeping the heat in hot tubs. Most heat loss from a hot tub occurs upwards, out of the surface of the water. A bad cover will be reflected in high heating energy bills. Hot tub and
spa covers take a lot of abuse every time you lift and close them. They are lifted, tugged, pulled,
dropped and dragged. On outdoor spas, they are exposed to the sun
and weather year round. After 4 or 5 years of use, most covers are
either badly worn or ripped, or their foam cores are heavy, moldy,
damp or cracked. The fact that covers even last as long as they do
is a miracle ! |
